Did you know there are foods which actively reduce your cholesterol level?
Essentially, reducing your cholesterol level (in particular your LDL level) can improve your cardiovascular health, potentially reducing your risk of heart attack or early death. Eating foods with low levels of cholesterol is one way to reduce levels, but there are some foods such as barley, oats, salmon and some vegetables can supercharge your efforts.
We found some great barley risotto recipes (try this roasted vegetable and caramelised garlic barley risotto but go easy on the Parmesan as it can increase your cholesterol) as a tasty way to add barley into our diet. See our other post about fibre to see why barley is such an important part of our diet.
