Book Review: Well Done Dougal

Compared to many other digger books for young children, Well Done Dougal has a short story and a lot of attention to the other parts of the illustrations, broadening its appeal to more than just digger fans.

Summary: Dougal the digger is working by the harbour as some children take a boat out fishing. Later in the day, the boat runs aground and Dougal helps to save the day.

Best Bit: The additional learning through the images. The tide comes in and goes out, the boat has accurate navigation lights, a seagull pinches an unattended sandwich. The illustrations are full page and there are short sentences on each page.
